Eufy X8 Pro Review – The Robot Pet Vacuum with Personality

I’ll admit it, I hate robot vacuums. The Kobold was ok but not without its flaws. We’ve reviewed many a robot vacuum in the past and they’ve really got on my nerves. Why? The ones I’ve been sent to review constantly get stuck, beeping until they’re released from under the sofa, from a cupboard corner, from a stray cat hair on the floor that they think they can’t travel over. On top of this they need charging, incessantly and rarely find their way back to their charging port, despite promising to. They become a cumbersome brick that you have to avoid unless you enjoy stubbing your toe while carrying hot cups of tea.

They also fill up very quickly and are surprisingly easy to block leading to an hour sat at the kitchen table with chopstick and the ultra convenient robot hoover perched on your knee as you prize out the tiny piece of paper or leaf that’s brought it to a standstill. They seem to be the must have accessory for those who have already vacuumed, for those who have a housekeeper and cleaner that keep the home spotless so the robot only has to pick up tiny pieces of dust that may fall from you as you walk.

That’s why I was skeptical about the Eufy X8, a brand I’d not heard of before promising a robot vacuum unlike any other. On first impressions it looked stylish, posh, streamlined and slick so I though maybe I could impress the guests this Christmas with a pet rock that may just do its job. It’s been three years since I last reviewed a robot hoover so maybe it was time to try it again.

If you’re short of time, I’ll just say this. I’m impressed. Seriously impressed. Robot vacuums have come a long way in those three years, or Eufy has as this little robotic buddy seemed to tackle every problem I had with these technologically advanced cleaners providing solutions to every bug bear as if it had read my mind.

I don’t mind admitting that I now have a name for my Eufy, I call him/her Buddy as he feels like my little pal that helps to make life a little easier while acting on his own initiative and completing the task at hand without any fuss. My kitchen floors have never looked cleaner and my kitchen is huge with heavy footfall, it’s difficult for it to stay pristine for longer than five minutes as dogs, cats, children, guests trample through bringing mud, leaves, straw, grass and all manner of debris with them.

Sleek, stylish and sexy Eufy

Eufy tackles this with ease. Cat and dog hair, no problem. Sugar and coffee grains, easy. Gravy and pesto spills- GONE! Eufy even mops a little so once the floor is free from dirt it’s cleaned in quick succession. Just call me Mrs Hinch!

Now Eufy have a map technology that can navigate the entire house but I haven’t taken advantage of this yet as the house is large, with wings, and there are steps into different rooms. Of course Eufy can’t levitate, we’ve not reached modern Dalek territory yet but Eufy is my kitchen buddy who makes me look on top of things, who keeps the pet hair from reaching the kitchen counters and who saves me the job of constantly mopping, drying and disinfecting. I’m in love.

Eufy has a wide range of other features too:

A detangling brush so those pet and human hairs don’t get stuck – even Dyson has trouble with this with 3 women in the home.

Incredible suction power – you’ll be amazed at what Eufy sucks up!

My favourite – wait for it – a self empty station so you don’t have to touch Eufy for 45 days! You’ll want to though, you’ll want to pet Eufy and give him a stroke for being such a good boy and doing such a good job!

If you’d like to discover all the technical specifications that I’m useless at describing please head over to Amazon or the Eufy website where you’ll see the formal speak. On an informal level, this is the best Robot vacuum I’ve tried and is now one of the flock and part of the family. Welcome home Buddy.

Of course Eufy X8 Pro wins our Top Product Award!
