Seven Tips for Swinging Etiquette

When choosing swinging as sexual preferences there are quite a lot of rules to follow. Group organisers spend a lot of time making sure that everything runs smoothly and you are expected to adhere to the rules in order to make it a good atmosphere for everyone.

In many cases, good swinging etiquette is basic good manners, whether you’re attending a sexual party or not.

Here’s an inside peak into what some of those rules are:

  1. RSVP

The first rule is to always RSVP to an invitation even if you can’t make it. Not responding is seen as complete ignorance and the hosts will strike you off the list never sending out an invitation again. This also applies if you plan to attend as the hosts need to make sure the right ratio of people arrive for everyone to have a good time.

  1. Arrive on Time

Punctuality is crucially important for a swinging event, as turning up late when things are already in full swing (pardon the pun) can throw spanners in the works as the hosts try to find a place for you to fit in. You may even be asked to leave as your late arrival could interrupt others.

  1. Have Respect

You may consider yourself the catch of the century however this will not endear you to others; personality makes people popular at swinging parties as other party goers want to feel the trust and respect from the other participant. Have respect for every guest along with your hosts, arrogance and aloofness will only ensure you’re never invited again.

  1. Take Presents

Remember to take pressies for your host as you would at any other social gathering. These can be the usual bottle of wine and flowers, or something that fits in with the theme of the evening.

  1. Adhere to the Dress Code

You will want to wear something comfortable although try to resist taking baggy pyjamas! If there’s a theme, have a role play outfit to hand, or take sex toys to enhance your play. A silky slip under your clothes or some flattering underwear can be all you need.

  1. Be Clean

Show respect for others by making sure you’re well groomed and scrubbed, including oral hygiene. Poor body odour or bad breath can make you stand out for all the wrong reasons. Some people like to take a travel care package of body spray, toothbrush, toothpaste and wet wipes so they can freshen up soon after arrival.

  1. Say No

You should always enjoy yourself and you will only do this if you feel OK about saying no to activities that you’re not comfortable with. Seasoned swingers understand not to pursue the matter and they don’t expect explanations as they respect your rights. Agreeing to an activity that makes you feel awkward will only serve to leave you with embarrassing memories after the event.
