Now, I had to say that as I’m going to wax lyrical about this robot mower. The Eufy E15 Robot Mower is a class apart. Sit back, take a sip and I will tell you why.
At the beginning of the summer a huge colony of bees decided to nest in our Grade II listed walls. I’m not bragging about the house, the grade is important as it means we can’t just rip out the hive, we have to let them be. (Pardon the pun). Now, despite everyone telling us that they’d leave us alone if we didn’t flail our arms about or scream, these bees stung. A lot. The postman, the dogs, any visitors. One evening I tried to mow with the great little Flymo lawnmower I have and I was instantly attacked by a mini swarm.
Over time they relaxed a little but still loud noises would set them off and I did not want to risk starting the lawn mower again. The only solution, a bee keepers costume. I bought one – see the pic on social media – and tried again. The ferocious busy bees attached themselves to me, piercing through the cloth. They really did believe they were in danger. The beekeeping outfit may be enough to trim the roses and pick the raspberries but not enough to mow the grass. I needed a helper.
Enter the Eufy E15 Robot mower. What an absolute delight. The only obstacle was securing the dock with a lot of bees buzzing overhead. I feel that obstacle is unique to me though so I won’t mark it down on that. After 10 minutes I’d mapped the garden, paths and all. I used my phone to set it off and watched through the window. I won’t lie, the bees didn’t like it but I did. The grass was becoming shorter and neater than I’d ever been able to achieve in all my year’s of mowing.
It glided across the cobble path with ease, when I thought I may have to intervene and lift it up to do both sides of the garden, I didn’t. IT trimmed so neatly around the ponds, avoided the flower beds and left the grass short, healthy and cut to such precision that you’d think I’d taken nail scissors and trimmed around every corner, every stone.
Now in the past I’ve been a fiend. With ADHD I start a hundred jobs never really successfully completing any. This has meant lawnmowers have been left out in the rain. However as soon as those skies start to cloud, Robbie, the Eufy Robot Mower comes home, straight back to the dock, waiting for sunshine again.
Eufy is a brand that is becoming more well known now for its quality and technological innovation. With this model they’ve obviously seen the pitfalls of other robot mowers and developed a machine that combats all of these while delivering exquisite results. The bees can stay and my grass can be trimmed. It’s a win win.
If you’re looking for a hands on lawnmower that’s battery powered, the best we’ve found is this Hayter Hawk!
