The Hilton Paddington seemed like the perfect place to stay for a spot of shopping. For this Hilton Paddington Review we stayed for two nights as friends, using it as a base to the rest of London.

The huge bonus of this hotel is that it’s in Paddington Station itself. This played a part in the booking as I knew I would be shopping and didn’t want to carry bags to the train. It was an absolute delight being able to hop off the train and straight into the hotel. The same can be said for the journey home as I could look out for my train from the comfort of the Hilton tearoom.

We requested a room with a terrace and it didn’t disappoint. The wicker tables and chairs were comfortable and we were lucky enough to enjoy good weather throughout the stay. The addition of executive room access was a plus, with great food provided throughout the day plus a good supply of wine and champagne. We didn’t gain access to the Tower Rooms or the Tower Lounge but were told that the executive lounge we used was actually superior.

The foyer is understandably busy at all times, as is the restaurant. When safe in a room, this is hardly noticeable at all. A lot of money has gone into creating that first impression and it is impressive, but the room we had was a little tired, although it was perfectly functional.

Light and spacious, it didn’t feel cramped like many London hotel rooms do, the bathroom had its own wet room and the double opening doors were wonderful.

Relax a little longerWe'd love your views on these

There’s no pool or spa which seems a shame as it would be great to unwind with a massage after a long journey! I guess this isn’t a hotel to enjoy a romantic weekend in but one that provides all you need for good quality business and travel stop overs.

We found it difficult to source a place to eat that served alcohol nearby so used room service which was perfectly fine. All in all a well deserved 4 stars!
