Reencle Home Composter DEALS

  • Reencle, Amazon, eBay

In our home we’ve always made compost, always had a compost heap on the go. It’s such a satisfying venture, turning fresh offcuts into loamy soil that helps the new plants and vegetables to grow. Yet it can be messy. It can spill over. It attracts red wasps and hornets in the summer. It smells quite awful on the hottest days and it seems to take forever to turn into the compost we need. It also takes up a lot of space, which is fine, for us as we live on a smallholding but when we had a very small postage stamp sized garden our composter took up the entire single flowerbed!

That’s why my interest was piqued with the Reencle home composter. Check out their website and you’ll see that this composter promises a lot but does it deliver? Does it keep its promises or does it disappoint. Here’s my review:

Reencle Compost Starter Pack
Reencle comes with all you need to start making eco friendly compost instantly

I was very impressed that the composter came with everything I needed to get started. I didn’t have to wait, order activator online or buy accessories. It includes everything you need to start making sweet soil from your kitchen waste.

Following the instructions carefully I waited the required time before throwing in any food. I was surprised at how quiet it was. I expected the kitchen to be permanently filled with a low hum and a swishing of paddles while it was in use. This is definitely a positive. You can also set it to work as you sleep too.

The Sweet Surprise About the Reencle Compared to Others

When making compost at home, the manual way, I never add any meat, dairy or cooked foods to the compost pile. I’m not sure why, it’s something that’s stuck with me over the years, something that I’ve followed to the letter and so I was very skeptical about tossing meat and cheese into this sleek appliance. I was also curious. Could it really turn bacon fat into compost? Leftover minced beef and fried eggs? What nutrients would my plants receive from such offerings? What chemical process occurs to turn these leftovers into compost? So many questions, and only a little hope.

I was wrong. Within 36 hours, granted, not the 24 hours I hoped for, the meat and cheese did resemble compost. I’d been frugal about how much I added, making sure not to overfill it and I threw in some greens for a nitrogen fix. This composter was now a game changer. No more scraping leftovers from a plate into a bin. No more carrying bin bags with food sloshing at the bottom, no more bin juice! NO MORE BIN JUICE! (Just saying it loudly for those in the back).

Relax a little longerWe'd love your views on these

As I have to drive a mile with bin bags in the back of my car every bin day (as the bin men won’t come to the house) the thought of eliminating bin juice filled me with utter joy. This is a time to celebrate.

This product deserves our Top Product Award and much more.

Reencle Review

The Negligible Negatives

You may be asking why then does it not have the full five stars, where does it fall short? In all honesty, the actual product doesn’t fall short at all, if instructions are followed closely, yet a deep dive into reviews shows that most customers (who haven’t followed the instructions) find the smell on opening to be quite sickly. This is compost after all, it is going to smell. It’s creating rotten food in super fast speed, it’s not a pretty process. Yet I do think there may be a way to overcome this. In addition to this some found that their paddle broke, probably due to having too little water/ moisture in the machine, the same way a spoon breaks if you try to mix setting concrete. Many lamented the fact that the customer service seemed unsympathetic, the follow up care lacking a little. This, however, is the opinion of overseas buyers and I’m confident the customer service in the UK is much better. Despite this, I couldn’t write a real review without revealing these tiny negatives.

A Composter to Buy For… Composting!

Overall this is a fantastic buy. It’s incredible for gardeners, cooks, bakers, anyone who hates bin juice. In short, it’s perfect for the entire population. It’s very popular in Japan and Korea, which makes perfect sense, as they’ve always been twenty years ahead of us when it comes to sustainable options.

You won’t regret buying this for your home and it won’t become a useless appliance that takes up counter space, it will become part of your every day kitchen routine. The Black Friday offer is generous so I suggest you grab yours while they last. No, I am not being paid to write this article!

Go forth and COMPOST!

This really is a great way to do your part for the environment and if you don’t have a garden you can use the compost for indoor plants, terrariums, vivariums, or gift it to a keen gardener. You can also turn it into compost and let the recycling take it weekly without worrying about the smells from the food recycling bin. It is definitely the future, soon we’ll have garbage disposals fitted with composters in every household.
