With so many antiaging treatments out there on the market, the latest global statistics suggest that The Global Anti-Aging Market was worth USD 42.51 Billion in 2018 and estimated to be growing at a rate of 5.30%, to reach USD 55.03 Billion by 2023. The future growth of anti-aging market is observed to rely on the advancement and technological development with enhanced efficacy and safety of anti-aging products. ( Reuters,22 Aug 2018).
With this is mind, the pharmaceutical companies have been striving to formulate and design products that can work well with the antiaging skincare products that are out there.
When it comes to injectable treatments, there are two main contenders out there. There are the Hyaluronic Acid Fillers ( HA Fillers) such as Juvederm and Restylane. And there are collagen stimulating injectables. One of the oldest ones out there is Sculptra. Even though it still has its place on the market, this has now been superseded by Ellanse. This is a collagen stimulating filler which in many respects is like the HA Fillers in that it corrects folds and wrinkles, but the beauty about Ellanse is that not only does it correct fold and wrinkles, it addresses antiaging concerns by allowing the body to stimulate its own natural collagen, this is the main difference. Ellanse also addresses volume loss in these areas. Ellanse is injected into the skin like a HA filler but the beauty I have found with this product, is that because your body makes its own collagen (Type1, natural), you will never look overdone . Ellanse is used more than 95% in my Clinical practice and the results I have seen after 3 months is astounding. All my patients look well, refreshed and natural. The potential as to how much collagen your body makes is dependant on lifestyle such as smoking and sun worshipping.
In my own Clinical practice, the average age of my patients is 56 and bearing the aging process in mind, the way we all age is pretty much the same. The migration of the fat pads downwards is also due to laxity of the supporting ligaments and hence we start seeing volume loss in the temples, area in front of your ears and jowls start to form as well as noted volume loss in the midface and marionette ( nose to mouth) lines. I have found that the collagen stimulating properties of Ellanse to be far superior than anything else on the market.

Using collagen stimulating treatments are not only limited to injectables, there are other treatments out there that aim to do this.
Using IPL technology ( this is similar to laser but called Intense Pulsed Light) you can use the setting on this machine to stimulate collagen. This is a great combination treatment and in my Clinic combine it with a medi-facial to get the best results.
Other collagen stimulating treatments can include medifacials and chemical peels that are designed to not only wound heal ( this allows body to start repair by making collagen) but also increasing cell turnover. This is so important in allowing collagen to be formed.
Rebooting the aging face though challenging, with the plethora of treatment modalities out there, there is an array of treatments your aesthetic practitioner can offer you to help you feel more confident and look like you are aging well.
