Before we start, there is one AI piece of technology that I really need to shout about. These promised the world and delivered. Do you know how rare that is?
Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro
With the new Thus AI Chip Anker launched their new earphones (I will not call them headphones no matter how much my children tell me to), the Liberty 5 Pro. We’ve tested a lot of earphones over the years, and headphones, and so I’ll be honest, I wasn’t that excited about these. They promised clearer sound, better connectivity, a smart screen, connection on unto 3 devices (no more adding and taking away) and whisper clear calls.
I’d love to say that I used them in Google Meet Calls, at work or while listening to audio books and podcasts but the truth is, I didn’t get a chance. No sooner had I opened the box than my 15 year old daughter grabbed them and ran off to “test” the earphones. I’ve not seen them since. I have had feedback though and this is it.
My daughter, Persephone, adores live music. We attend roughly six concerts a year and she always goes to Reading Festival with her father. She loves bass when it vibrates through the body and delivers the feeling of euphoria, another astral plain. These earphones replicate that and they’re the first to ever do so! Yes, I worry about her hearing, but with these connected to her iPhone she is told when the music is too loud, when it may damage her ears, and she often (not always) adjusts the volume accordingly. Didn’t we all think we were indestructible at 15?
She loves how she’s connected to her iPhone, her tablet and her bluetooth speaker with one click. She loves how they feel so comfortable it’s as if she’s not wearing anything at all. She loves them in calls with her friends, where she hears every murmur and we hear zilch. She loves the little screen and the epic charging times. In her words, “these are the best headphones ever!”
So before you get to grips with setting up these household helpers, plug in some Anker Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and whistle while THEY work!
ECOVACS WinBot W2S Omni Robot Window Cleaner
We have some robot vacuums for you to feast your eyes on in a minute but first, this cool little AI gadget that cleans windows, inside and out. An absolute game changer for me, especially for the upstairs windows. No longer do I have to ask someone to hold my legs as I drape out of the window with cloth and spray in hand! Also amazing for tall windows, patio doors, French windows, as it gets in every corner and removes every speck of dirt. It’s really easy to set up, small enough to move from window to window and has a cord that’s long enough for the tallest windows too. You can leave it set up and voice activate it to go when you’re ready or you can plus it in, let it do the work and store it away with ease. If you have an orangery or conservatory this will save you a fortune. It will also save you a lot of time. Perfect for sky lights too.

ECOVACS DeeBot x12 Omni Cyclone Robot Vac
This one confused us at first as the bot didn’t seem to understand the map of the large house. I then realised it was my error and nothing to do with the EcoVac. It was easy to start again and once I did I was amazed at how intuitive it seemed to be. It vacuumed the entire downstairs without skipping a beat, under sofas and chairs, leaving those lovely little lines in the carpet, making everything seem super clean. In this heatwave the dogs constantly bring in dried grass from the paddock but that’s no match for this. I particularly loved the pre treatment where it will spray a stain, let it soak and then come back to brush or mop it up. It’s also great for finding lost items that have been sucked up as you can clearly see them in the collector. It’s not the cheapest but it is one of the best!

Karcher RCV5 Robot Vacuum
For a Robot Vacuum and Mop that’s a little less spenny, the Karcher is great. Reliable, affordable, takes a little longer to clean but cleans really well. The great asset of the Karcher (which some may disagree with) is that you don’t have to have an APP or WiFi to use it, you can just press the button and go. It cleans all floors with ease and charges automatically. Customer service is also UK based and very eager to help.
