Tewkesbury Park Hotel Review for those considering this Southwest hideaway, please note, this is the clear winner of our SouthWest Hotel Awards.
Tewksbury Park Hotel is one of the best kept secrets in Gloucestershire, accessed down a roving drive through a perfectly manicured golf course, the imposing double barrelled white building gives hints to the opulence that awaits.
We were greeted on arrival with a smile and a handshake and shown to our room, our suite, which had been visited recently by Fiona Bruce of the BBC.
The views across the course were stunning, as we could see for miles. Despite this, the hotel seemed to resonate with an air of security as if we were embarking on a weekend of our own private hideaway.
The toiletries were Neal’s Yard, showing attention to detail and a regard for the guest’s comfort. The small vials were generously sized and ranged from the luxurious aromatherapy shower gels to shampoos and conditioners. An antique walnut desk made it easy to carve out time to work, while the real beauty came in the form of the incredibly comfortable Hypnos beds.
Someone at Tewkesbury Park Hotel has paid attention to detail, as every indulgence was taken care of and little touches made this stay beautiful. From the sand filled teddy bear doorstop that allowed us to claim, “do not disturb” to the high quality reed diffusers that filled the air with citrus notes, and relaxing blends. The silver tray for tea and fresh milk direct from the kitchen, made the cup of coffee on arrival even more decadent and rejuvenating.
The 300 thread count of the linen ensured we felt cared for as we slipped into bed, while the mood lighting and decor, let us escape into opulence as we read. The hotel informed us that they’d recently enjoyed a million pound renovation and every touch highlighted the care and attention they’d afforded the upcoming guests.
We found this hotel to be the height of indulgence, a wonderful retreat that made us feel like royalty. We’ve awarded it our highest honour for the SouthWest hotel awards, however, we’re finding it difficult to find a hotel nationally that matches the investment in quality.
We can’t wait to see how the hotel grows after this investment, as we came away feeling relaxed and pampered, along with some inspiration for our own home interiors. Taste, class and intelligence make up this wonderful hotel and the refurbishment and overhaul has been an obvious resounding success.
Out of all the hotels we will visit in 2017 for the SouthWest hotel awards, we’re looking forward to returning to Tewkesbury Park hotel the most.
