We know our toys, our collectibles and our favourite brands. From Spinmaster to Jazwares, Lego to Hasbro we know what little ones love and what bigger ones love to collect. That’s why we look forward to our toy gift guide every single year. This year we’re very excited to bring you the best toys of 2024. Remember, if it’s not in the guide, it’s not worth having!
Our toys are not just for children, there are many here for adult collectors, grown up fun sports enthusiasts and those who just love to unwind with a little creativity. Keep checking back as we update daily and still have toys coming into the office that we’re reviewing. I know, it’s a hard life.
Let’s start with…
Hatchimals
I remember when these first launched, gosh we were so excited. An egg that hatches the more you love it? My youngest was 7 at the time and it was the toy of the year but we couldn’t get our hands on one! (Just like the Golden LOL ball). Instead I made her Hello Kitty plushie grow the more she loved it. Hello Kitty grew to her full size and we still have her today. My daughter is now 13 and just the other week she asked what magic made Hello Kitty grow like that. With a wink, I told her it was love.
By the time her birthday came around in April, we had our hands on our very first Hatchimal and we took amateur videos as it hatched. The excitement on my daughter’s face as the shell began to break will never be replaced. Hatchimals hold a special place in our hearts and this year they’re fluffier than ever. Give an experience, not just a gift, a moral too. The more you love it, the happier it is!
Lego Gotham City
There’s a reason Lego is the top toy year after year. Not only do children and adults adore it they also constantly innovate and deliver exactly what their customers need. We love this artwork of Gotham City, not only because it’s an absolute pleasure to build but because it can hang on a wall, taking up very little space in an already Lego crowded bedroom. All art in the home should be Lego art! The Gotham City art wins our Top Product Award!
Xootz Electric Blue Scooter
Reaching speeds of up to 10mph this scooter is the bees knees. We have to put a disclaimer here – ride only on private land with permission, not on public highways. Now that’s out the way you can zip yourself around the fields and dirt tracks of the English countryside in style, with a little extra power and some flashing lights to keep you visible on these dark nights. It’s a great scooter for anyone of any age (I know, I love it, I use it on dog walks). A beautiful present to get kids out and about, away from their screens and into the fresh air.
Xootz Landrover Defender
I have ALWAYS wanted a Landrover Defender. It’s my dream car. Did you know it has a drain so you can wash the interior floors with a hosepipe? Living on a smallholding and having so many muddy animals this vehicle is an absolute dream. So imagine my delight when Xootz said they’d send me a Landrover Defender to try out! It may be mini, I may not fit into it but my friend’s child does and they love being the king of the forest in this electric country car that goes up to six miles per hour. It’s built well and looks great parked in the garden. It’s one to make the neighbours jealous, we love it.
Jazwares Squishmallows Sleeping Pikachu
Jazwares have teamed up with many iconic heroes to bring us branded squish mallows that suit all tastes, from Stranger Things to the Lion King, The Nightmare Before Christmas to Pokemon. Our Favourite though is sleeping Pikachu. He’s so large, so soft and so cuddly! He makes a great pillow but also a bed buddy. He looks amazing, feels amazing, what more do you need? We love him! We also heard a rumour that Jazwares will be extending their Pokemon range to pet toys. Once we’ve got our hands on some we’ll let you know what the dogs, and cats, think!
STABILO Stocking Fillers
STABILO are a staple in British stationary and while more and more stationary brands reveal new items STABILO stays ahead of the game providing reliable, long lasting products that we love and adore. This year they’ve launched their chalk markers which are a great rival to Posca Pens. They work brilliantly on any surface and are ideal for squishy makeovers and wall decor along with a whole host of other projects. Check out Moriah Elizabeth on Youtube if you’d like to discover ways to use Acrylic markers. Anyone would be delighted with these as stocking fillers.
